The Bald Patch that Led us Somewhere No Standard Test Would Have Looked

A two-year-old Cavalier. Thinning fur. A worried new owner. Two bioresonance sessions later, we had not just a diagnosis - we had the complete story of a young dog whose body had been carrying hidden burdens since before she arrived. This is how it unfolded.
Ruby is a two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (a small, gentle, affectionate breed popular in New Zealand homes) - bright, raw-fed, and very much loved by her new owner. She arrived as a semi-rescue about five months ago, with a history that could only be partially pieced together. Not long after, the owner noticed the fur along Ruby's rear topline beginning to thin. Small bald patches, slowly spreading.
A conventional vet visit for unexplained hair loss in a young dog follows a predictable path: skin scrape, allergy panel, perhaps a thyroid screen, possibly a prescription. These are all reasonable steps, and we would never discourage anyone from working alongside their vet. But what that pathway cannot do is ask the body why - simultaneously mapping stress across multiple organ systems and tracing the symptom back to its deeper origin.
That is what bioresonance scanning does. And Ruby's case, which unfolded across two sessions, turned out to be one of the most layered and instructive we have seen.

Session One: Following the Thread Inward
The first scan layer - the skin of the hair-covered body - showed an allergy response weakening Ruby's system by 37%. The substance identified: hafnium.
Hafnium is a trace element that co-occurs naturally with zirconium in mineral zircon sand, found in silica-based cat litters, ceramic glazes, and semiconductor materials. It has no biological function, but bioresonance consistently identifies it as an allergy stressor in animals with compromised gut barrier function. The household had been using silica-based cat litter until around four months ago - and Ruby, as dogs sometimes do, had been regularly eating the cats' faeces both indoors and outdoors. The litter has since been switched to a zeolite-based product, removing that exposure route. Ruby also had access to an outdoor compost heap, another significant source of environmental burden for a small dog.
From the skin layer we followed the thread inward - investigating the liver (under strain from a prior oral isoxazoline flea treatment whose fat-soluble compounds can accumulate in tissue rather than clearing cleanly), the lymphatic system (reactive from chronic gut antigenic load), and then the nervous system, where the picture became most significant.
Ruby's pyramidal neurons - the primary motor output cells of the brain - were showing as chronically stressed. Not acutely reactive; chronic. The body had adapted around this state. Her astrocytes, the brain's internal housekeeping cells that maintain the blood-brain barrier and manage neural waste clearance, were also under pressure. This was the neurological fingerprint of a young dog whose nervous system had been under load since well before she arrived with her current owner - most likely from a compressed early vaccination schedule and oral chemical flea treatment during a critical developmental window.
The homeopathic remedy Spigelia was identified by the PetScan as strengthening Ruby's system by 33% - confirmed independently on both the skin layer and the liver layer. Two separate organ systems pointing to the same constitutional remedy is a strong signal. Spigelia (Spigelia anthelmia, Pink Root) has a classical affinity in homeopathic medicine for nerve pathways and constitutionally weakened animals, entirely consistent with this neural picture and with the Cavalier breed's known predisposition toward nerve-cardiac involvement.
All primary findings resolved to normal within the first session using meta therapy. But we had scheduled a full body cleanse scan for the next visit - and that is where the final piece of the puzzle emerged.
Bioresonance Scanning
Bioresonance scanning assesses the energetic stress signature of individual tissues and organ systems - not just blood values or visible pathology, but how each tissue is functioning at a cellular level. Think of it as asking each part of the body how it is coping, rather than waiting for something to break down enough to show on a test.
The table below summarises the first session findings. Outside normal range means measurable stress. Chronic means the body has been living with this long enough to adapt around it - harder to shift than an acute finding, but entirely addressable with layered support. The third column shows what happened within the session itself using bioresonance meta therapy - frequency-based treatment applied through the same device.
The Spigelia homeopathic remedy finding deserves special mention: the PetScan identified it as the top strengthening remedy on the skin layer, then confirmed it again independently on the liver layer. That kind of double confirmation across two separate organ systems is a strong constitutional signal, and Spigelia is now central to Ruby's ongoing protocol.

Session Two: The Full Body Cleanse - and the Answer
A full body cleanse scan asks the PetScan to identify any micro-organisms - bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites - that are currently active in the body. Each organism shows as green (alive and active), red (struggling), or brown (no longer active). We treat the green ones: those currently placing a load on the immune system, using targeted bioresonance frequencies to neutralise each one.
What the cleanse scan found explained everything.
The Cause of the Hair Loss - Confirmed
Microsporum canis - the classic ringworm fungus that passes between cats and dogs -was identified as active. Given that Ruby shares her home with two cats and had regular access to their litter tray and outdoor areas, the transmission route is clear. Microsporum canis colonises the hair follicle and causes exactly the kind of patchy rear topline alopecia Ruby presented with.
Epidermophyton floccosum - a second dermatophyte (skin-loving fungus) - was found alongside it, further disrupting follicle health. And Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, a keratin-loving fungus that establishes in skin and nail tissue alongside dermatophytes, completed the fungal skin picture.
Three fungal organisms, all active in the skin, all treated in session two. The bald patches finally had a name.
But the Cleanse Scan Did Not Stop There
It revealed the fuller picture of what Ruby's immune system had been quietly managing - organisms traceable to every significant exposure in her history.
From The Cats and Outdoor Environment
Microsporum canis, Aspergillus fumigatus (thrives in compost), and Nocardia asteroides (soil bacterium) - all consistent with Ruby's access to cat faeces, the compost heap, and outdoor soil
From Gut Permeability and Coprophagia
Three Candida species (albicans, krusei, parapsilosis), Bacteroides fragilis, Proteus vulgaris, and Enterococcus faecium - a coherent picture of gut dysbiosis and bacterial translocation through a compromised intestinal wall
From Ruby's Medical History
Candida parapsilosis (strongly associated with surgical and medical procedures - likely introduced during desexing), Brucella abortus (a known presence in some raw meat sources), and Cytomegalovirus (a herpesvirus that reactivates under immune suppression).
From Lowered Immune Resilience Overall
Branhamella (Moraxella) - an opportunistic respiratory organism that establishes when immunity is under pressure. Exactly what Ruby's immune system had been experiencing
Every organism on that list has a logical source in Ruby's history. None of them would have appeared on a standard blood panel. All of them were treated in session two
What the body was asking for nutritionally
Alongside the scan findings, we tested foods against Ruby's system to identify what her body was drawing toward: carrots (strengthening by 27%), dairy yoghurt (24%), and butter (13%). These collectively point toward fat-soluble vitamin support - vitamins A, D, and K2 - and a gut lining asking for nourishment. The body signals what it needs long before the coat starts to show us something is wrong

Why this Matters Beyond Ruby
Ruby's story is one we see regularly in integrative practice - and almost never in conventional veterinary consultations, not because conventional vets are not excellent at what they do, but because the tools available simply do not look in these places.
A standard workup for Ruby's hair loss would likely have resulted in an antifungal prescription once ringworm was eventually suspected - but it would not have identified the three concurrent fungal organisms, the triple Candida gut picture, the bacterial translocation, the chronic neural stress, or the accumulated chemical burden from an oral flea treatment given over a year ago. It would have treated the visible symptom and left the underlying load in place
